Cat in the Hat

We are in the beginning stages of developing into the Cat in the Hat.  We started the morning with Math.  We are continuing to COMPOSE numbers with GUS THE PLUS!  The students will be assessed tomorrow on putting the number into 2 10-Frames.  They will then have to write the number sentence using GUS the PLUS and the EQUAL SIGN.

We also started our transformation to become the Cat in the Hat.  They have their Bow Tie and Hats on here.  More will be posted later!

Welcome to SEUSSVILLE!

Today we began our Author Study of Theodore Seuss Geisel.  We jumped right into Cat in the Hat today with all kinds of Seuss like activites.  We don't want to give to much away because we want your child to tell you all the fun and exciting things they did today.  We did introduce the Author we will be discussing for the next two weeks.

We also watched a Cat in the Hat Rap (which I will share with you guys:))  We only read half of the Cat in the Hat today and will finish up the story tomorrow.  Be sure to ask your child about what BALANCE means and what kinds of things they could BALANCE at home.  Be sure to ask for a demonstration.  Here are a few videos of students trying to balance like the Cat in the Hat:
